*.* My take on the AWARE saga... *.*
I am a Christian. These words from the Bible reflect what I'd like to tell the women from the ex-new Exco..
1 Peter 3: 8-16
Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For,
"Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
Who is going to do harm if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak against your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.Having a personal relationship with God gives us the privilege of viewing things from His perspective. The key issue of sexual immorality, in this case, is probably viewed with horror and possibly disgust, because in our hearts, we know that sexual immorality or wrong sexual behaviour displeases God.
The important question is, where do we go from there? Making a stand for what we believe is important, and I think we should, but let's do this in love. People who do not believe in God, and therefore are not under God's Law, will not have the same way of thinking. All we say may be foolishness to them, but our role is not to judge. That's God's job. (and he does it extremely well) Instead, we should love, in the way God loves, and pray, always remembering the hope that we have, and that at the end of the day, justice and righteousness (God's standards) will prevail.
To end this off...
John 3:16-17
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
God bless you:)
